Police ID Suspect in String of Armed Robberies
Police say Joshua Matteson, 33, of Woonsocket, is considered armed and dangerous.

WOONSOCKET, RI—Woonsocket police identified the suspect wanted for a string of armed convenience store and sandwich shop robberies in recent weeks as 33-year-old Joshua Matteson of Woonsocket.
Matteson is considered armed and dangerous and anyone who knows his whereabouts is asked to call police at 401-766-1212 or dial 911.

Police said Matteson is believed to have robbed businesses in Woonsocket, Lincoln and Attleboro, MA.
In Woonsocket, Matteson is believed to be responsible for his involvement in upwards of six armed robberies that occured over the past two months.

In many of the robberies, Matteson brandished a weapon before fleeing with cash.
Police said the their investigation included robberies in January at the Shell on Social Street and Subway restaurants on Clinton Street and Diamond Hill Road.
In February, robberies occurred at the Diamond Hill Road Quick Mart at 814 Diamond Hill Road and the Woonsocket Convenience Store at 575 South Main St.
Woonsocket police obtained an arrest warrant for three counts of first-degree robbery and conspiracy, according to police.
