Police Log: Unending Party Draws Attention To Guest's Cocaine Possession

The following arrest information was provided by the Woonsocket Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

The third time was no charm for Norman Landry, 23, of 104 Farm St., Blackstone, MA when Woonsocket Police made repeated visits to a Congress Street party that wouldn't end Dec. 16.

According to a report by Officer Sean Rochette, officers were first called to the 273 Congress Street home at 12:28 a.m. Rochette said he could hear loud music coming from the house from more than 500 feet away. Rochette knocked on the door, which was ajar, and was greeted by Chris Forestal, 23, the owner of the house. Inside Rochette observed about 15 people and a DJ, illuminated by a green strobe light.

Rochette told them he was responding for a report of loud music, and Forestal apologized, agreeing to turn down the music, and Rochette left.

At about 1:43 a.m., Rochette was dispatched back to the address for another noise complaint. This time, he found the partiers, Forestal included, in the front yard, again playing loud music, talking loudly. Rochette told Forestal to break up the party this time, and he agreed. Rochette and another officer watched as partiers began to leave the address before they were dispatched on another call.

At about 2:49 a.m., Rochette was again dispatched to the address, and could hear loud talking and laughter coming from the building. Rochette ordered everyone into one spot in the house and conducted background checks.

Rochette reported a background check on Landry, a guest at the party, revealed he had a bench warrant from Sixth District Court. Landry, who was barefoot, pointed out his sneakers to another officer, who picked them up, causing a small bag of what was later identified as cocaine, valued at $10 according to the report, to fall out.

Landry was arrested on the warrant and also charged with possession of cocaine.

Forestal was issued a ticket for noise violation.
