- Riverzedge Arts teens have unveiled a mural that “transformed an empty space at Thundermist Health Center into a welcoming community courtyard.” A Saturday report features the artists’ intentions when creating the mural. They range from showing the “kindness of doctors” to creating “a warm and welcoming environment for patients and other community members.” The finished project is at 450 Clinton Street. (RI News Today)
- Trinity Health and Rehabilitation at 4 Saint Joseph Street is holding free CNA classes as part of a pilot program. “Upon graduation, CNAs are guaranteed a job at either Trinity or Hebert.” The next set of classes may start as early as May or June. (The Valley Breeze)
- The St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish at 174 Harris Avenue invites you to attend its flea market on April 2. Look for “a large selection of name brand clothing for ladies, men and children, household items, lamps, bedding, linens, books, toys and more.” There will be Polish Kitchen food, too! - Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt announced Friday that “the City of Woonsocket will raise the Ukrainian flag at all fire stations, police stations, and Market Square.” She, along with other city officials and faith leaders, will attend a ceremony on today at 4 p.m. Everyone is welcome! (ABC)
- Could a state constitutional amendment help improve public schools? We learned Saturday that Democratic Sen. Roger Picard, who represents a district in Woonsocket and Cumberland, wants to put a question on the ballot to make it happen. It will ask if the state constitution should guarantee “an equitable, adequate and meaningful education to each child.” He said that Massachusetts did something similar to “transform its public education system.” (My San Antonio)
