  1. When visiting the city on Friday, Governor Dan McKee did more than encourage vaccinations. He also met with Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt to tour businesses and discuss pandemic recovery. “We’re learning as we’re going,” the Mayor noted. According to the Governor, “Rhode Island is leading the Northeast and is second in the country in terms of economic recovery.” That said, local business owners are complaining about labor shortages and supply chain issues. (ABC, @GovDanMcKee)
  2. The Treasurer wants to reunite Rhode Islanders with money that is rightfully theirs. On Thursday, the Treasury Team visited the local Senior Center and reunited some residents with their property. A Smithfield resident learned that “she had $300 in missing money.” Check to see if you are owed something! (@RITreasury, Find RI Money)
  3. The RMI Compassion Center in Woonsocket is a go. It is one of the five medical marijuana dispensaries chosen by lottery on Friday. The event was somewhat theatrical. “The lottery was conducted by the Department of Business Regulation using R.I. Lottery balls and a tumbler borrowed from Twin River, with a blindfolded Russell Griffiths — a former FBI agent and current DBR official — pulling the winners. He wore short sleeves to help show there was no funny business.” RMI Compassion Center staff now has nine months to open up and pay the annual $500,000 licensing fee to the state. (WPRI)
  4. If you attended St. Mary's Church in Providence, please note that a Roman Catholic priest was arrested Saturday “after Rhode Island State Police said they caught him with child pornography.” The Providence Diocese Bishop noted that this priest is “prohibited from all ministry duties.” The 66-year-old’s priest name is J. Jackson. (Patch)
