Welcome to Tuesday, Woonsocket - here are today's things to know:

Budget Commission - The Woonsocket Budget Commission meets today, 3 p.m. in Harris Hall, third floor at City Hall, 169 Main St.. Among the items on their agenda, they'll consider a resolution to reform Pension and Post-Retirement Benefits of City and School Department Retirees. They'll also discuss police and school department vacancies, as well as the appointment of Steven Thibault to the Redevelopment Agency.
Snow - Chances are, you already know it's snowing, and you'll shortly be commuting through it. Drive carefully, and remember, if you're doing errands in the city this morning, there's a parking ban through noon today.

WMS Fundraiser Brainstorming - The WMS PTO is scheduling an extra meeting this month on Tuesday March 19 to plan some fundraisers at 6pm in Hamlet.
FRCA VITA Program - Family Resources Community Action is providing FREE Income Tax Preparation forfamilies with incomes less than $51,000. All preparers are certified by the IRS, andE-filing is done for fast returns. Appointments are available at Family Resources Community Action, 245 Main St., on the following days:

Nixle - After the recent snowstorm the Woonsocket Police and Fire Department want to send a reminder about Nixle. During the snowstorm residents received a phone message with information from Nixle. We are encouraging all residents and interested parties to sign up for Nixle’s OPT IN notification alerts. You will be able to choose what messages you want to be informed of including emergency alerts, public safety updates, or community event information. You can receive Nixle messages on your cell phone, tablet, or other device.
