Winter Storm Warning for Woonsocket Points to Messy Tuesday Morning Commute
More snow forecast just before spring's official start.

UPDATE - Tuesday, 5:30 a.m. : Woonsocket Public Schools and Mount St. Charles Academy are delayed one hour. Morning kindergarten for Woonsocket Public Schools is canceled.
UPDATE 6:30 p.m.: Woonsocket has issued a parking ban, effective from 9 p.m. Monday night through 12 p.m. Tuesday.

With spring just a few days away, the National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Woonsocket starting tonight, threatening a possibly messy Tuesday morning commute
The warning is in effect from 9 p.m. through 11 a.m. Tuesday.
A coastal storm will move across Southern New England, bringing a period of heavy snow followed by sleet before switching to a period of freezing rain then all rain. Though accumulation totals will be determined by the timing of the switch between snow and rain, 4 – 8 inches are possible for our area," according to the NWS warning.
A messy morning commute is possible for Tuesday, as is a chance of some isolated tree damage from northeast winds of 5 – 15 mph gust to 40 mph during the storm.
