A check on Martin revealed he had a suspended license, but the Audi was gone by the time Theroux ascertained that. He spotted the car again a short time later on Diamond Hill Road and pulled it over. As he approached to speak with the driver, he saw the passengers moving around inside. When he spoke with the driver, he could now see a woman, Victoria Asselin, 24, also of of 119 Seventh Ave., apt. 1 behind the wheel.
Theroux asked who had actually been driving at the time of the stop, and Martin admitted he had been the driver. Theroux arrested him. While moving Martin into his cruiser, Theroux smelled marijuana. Another officer searched the car for it, finding a bag of the substance, which Asselin admitted was hers. The officers also arrested her.
