Woonsocket Police Arrest Two Men For Pot Possession, Seize 14 Pitbulls

The following arrest information was provided by the Woonsocket Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

 

At 6:30 a.m. Friday, Woonsocket Police served a search warrant at 95 Rathbun St., 2nd left, arresting residents Miguel Medina, 22 and Juan Olivio, 35.

Inside the apartment, police found Medina with 3.5 grams of marijuana and oxycodone pills, for which he did not have a prescription. Medina was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of a schedule I-V drug, the oxycodone.

Olivio, whom police caught with .2 grams of marijuana, was charged with possession of marijuana, 1st offense.

Police also found 14 pitbulls in the apartment, including seven puppies. Two of the dogs were properly licensed.

The mother and puppies are being held by Lincoln Animal Control, and the RISPCA took control of four adult dogs. Woonsocket Animal Control is holding the other dogs. 

The tenants have been cited for numerous animal violations totaling close to $1,600 in fines.
