Woonsocket Police ID Child Drowning Victim

Police released the youngster's name on Tuesday.

WOONSOCKET, RI—Police released the name of the 3-year-old Woonsocket boy who drowned Monday in the next door neighbor's pool. He is Jasper Sengsavangvong. Officers tried to revive him after he was found unconscious in the water, but the boy died at Landmark Medical Center.

"At this point no foul play is suspected and the investigation continues," police said. According to investigators, Jasper roamed away from home into the neighbor’s rear yard at 116 Poplar St. He apparently walked "through two open garage doors that led to the pool where the child was found," police said.
