Woonsocket Toddler Drowns In Neighbor's Pool

Woonsocket police and firefighters tried to revive the 3-year-old, but the child was pronounced dead at Landmark Medical Center.

WOONSOCKET, RI—A 3-year-old boy died on Monday after he drowned in the next-door neighbor's swimming pool, police said Monday. Officers were called to a home on Poplar Street around 3:13 p.m. for a search for a missing child. The child was found in the neighbor's yard in the swimming pool, police said.

Police pulled the child out of the pool and tried to resuscitate him. Woonsocket medics also tried to revive him and took him to Landmark Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Woonsocket police are investigating the case.
