- As of Friday, Papa Gino’s on Diamond Hill Road is still looking for an assistant manager. “As a full-time assistant restaurant manager, you will be part of the team that runs the restaurant’s operations.” Compensation includes insurance and 401(k) plan with employer match. (PayloCity)
- A shoutout to Woonsocket HS senior Davin Alarie! He managed to finish “his high school wrestling career by winning three of his five matches in the 182-pound weight class at last weekend’s New England Championships at the Providence Career & Technical Academy facility.” Great job! (The Valley Breeze)
- We have previously talked about the Woonsocket YMCA Whalers youth swim team that is having a great season. We learned Friday that “9/10 boys win their age group at the Southeast New England Y swim meet.” Well done! (Patch, Woonsocket YMCA Whalers Swim Team)
- Just before the start of the weekend, a report came out that says “several CVS executives were fired after an internal investigation found they botched the handling of sexual harassment allegations within company ranks.” The company’s CEO took this drastic action when she learned of allegedly ongoing harassment in New Jersey. “We absolutely do not tolerate behavior or actions that are harassing, hostile, abusive, or discriminatory,” she said. (NY Post)
- The City Council opposes pending legislation. We learned Thursday that this legislation is Senate Bill 2244, which “would establish new factors for the interest contract arbitration board for municipal employee unions … including the expenditure of money.” this means that municipal employees would enter into binding arbitration with the city but “without city council approval, bypassing local council budgetary concerns and elected officials.” (The Valley Breeze)
