Since the shootings in Newtown, state police have been swamped with applications for background checks on new pistol permits.
June is the month to register your dog with your town, but in order to register Fido or Buffy, your dog must have a current and valid rabies certificate.
After all the meetings and public hearings, it is now time to vote!
As a reminder, June is dog licensing month. All dogs must have an updated rabies certificate to be licensed.
East Haven's Beach Party and Fireworks event is this Saturday, June 29 featuring music by a Neil Diamond tribute band. If the fireworks are cancelled due to rain, rain date is July 1.

A young East Haven girl who was reported missing was found, unharmed, by the state K-9 unit. She is back home with her family.
