2 Juveniles Charged In Fatal Shooting Of Man In Franconia: Police

FRANCONIA, VA — Two juvenile suspects in a fatal shooting in Franconia on Dec. 12 turned themselves into police, the Fairfax County Police Department said Thursday.

County police were notified on Wednesday that the two juveniles turned themselves into the Arlington County Police Department. Both juveniles were brought to Fairfax County and charged in connection with the fatal shooting, police said.

Shortly before 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 12, police officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 5300 block of Harbor Court Drive in Franconia. After a search of the area, no victims or suspects were found at the scene.

But about 30 minutes later, officers were notified by the Prince William County Police Department that a black Dodge Charger had arrived at a local hospital with a victim suffering from a gunshot wound.

Bryant Anthony Gillis, 23, of Woodbridge was pronounced dead at the hospital.

One of the juvenile suspects was charged with second degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. The second juvenile was charged with principal in the second degree, police said.

Both juveniles are currently being held at the Fairfax County Juvenile Detention Center, according to police.
