75-Year-Old Alexandria Man Dies From Motorcycle Crash Injuries: Police
An Alexandria man died Thursday from injuries he received in an Oct. 3 motorcycle crash in the Groveton part of Fairfax County, police said.
ALEXANDRIA, VA — An Alexandria man died Thursday from injuries he sustained in an Oct. 3 motorcycle crash in the Groveton part of Fairfax County, according to police.
Darrell Hayes, 75, was driving his 2018 Honda Goldwing motorcycle on northbound Lantern Place around 8:15 a.m. on Oct. 3, when he made a left turn onto westbound South Kings Highway. Hayes lost control of his motorcycle, laying it down on the roadway, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.
Hayes was taken to a hospital and died from his injuries 10 days after the accident. Fairfax County Police said they do not believe speed or alcohol were factors in the crash.
