The career fair is being held by the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority, Virginia Chamber Foundation and the Virginia Department of Veterans Services. The economic development authority has hosted various job fairs to attract talent to Northern Virginia, including a past event geared toward active duty military and veterans.

"We are thrilled to once again invite our nation’s veterans to explore the impactful careers and high quality of life available to them in Northern Virginia’s diverse communities," said Victor Hoskins, the president and CEO of the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority. "Last November’s Veteran and Military Career Fair was a resounding success, with more than 200 veterans attending the in-person event at Fort Belvoir and more than 2,000 online conversations taking place between candidates and our hiring companies."

With the presence of Fort Belvoir, the Pentagon and other military sites, Northern Virginia has a significant presence of military families and veterans. According to the economic development authority, Fairfax County alone has nearly 80,000 veterans and their families and 1,968 veteran-owned firms.

Since May 2020, the economic development authority's career fairs have drawn nearly 4,600 attendees and over 11,000 conversations between employers and job candidates.
