Fairfax County Inspector Charged, Allegedly Took Cash: Police

Fairfax County employee, an inspector with Code Compliance, was charged with felony Obtaining Money by False Pretense.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- Fairfax County Police detectives with the Major Crimes Division arrested a Fairfax County employee on Tuesday who they say allegedly accepted cash in his job as an inspector.

Police say Rakesh K. Kapoor, 54, of Manassas, was charged with felony Obtaining Money by False Pretense following an investigation, after he allegedly accepted cash for a transaction while working in the capacity as an inspector with the Fairfax County Department of Code Compliance. Kapoor was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center where the warrant was served.

The Fairfax County Department of Code Compliance does not accept cash payments.
