Fatal Stabbing in Rose Hill Area: Police
Police say the man was found with what appeared to be stab wounds Friday night in the Rose Hill area and later died at an area hospital.

UPDATE: New information has been provided to Patch about the location of the incident. The incident took place on a bike trail behind a set of townhouses, according to a spokesman for A.J. Dwoskin & Associates, the company that manages the Rose Hill Apartments. The victim was not a resident of the apartments and the incident did not take place at the apartments or on its grounds, the company spokesman said. Patch pinpointed the location on a map using the address provided by police, as a service to our readers.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- Police are investigating a homicide that took place Friday night in the Rose Hill area of the County.

Police were called to the 5100 block of Celtic Drive (see map below) Friday night, shortly after 8 p.m.
A resident had discovered a man lying on the ground, unresponsive, according to police. Officers arrived and were directed to the man, who had an injury to his leg "consistent with being stabbed," police said.

Rescue personnel initially transported the man to the Inova Springfield Healthplex, but he was later transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital.
Major Crimes Division Detectives, along with personnel from the Crime Scene Section, responded to begin their investigation. The victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead late last night, police said. The victim has been identified as William G. Martines-Palma, 29, of Celtic Drive.
