Former Edison Standout to Compete in Olympics
Andy Najar will join the Honduras U-23 National Team in London.

Andy Najar, who left Edison High at 17 to join DC United in 2010, will play soccer in the 2012 Olympic Games in London with the Honduras U-23 National Team, according to DC United.
In his third season with DC United, the outside midfielder was selected for the Honduras U-23 Olympic Qualifying roster on March 14. Najar continued to place second in the 2012 CONCACAF Men’s Olympic Qualifying Tournament which allowed him to advance to the Olympics.

A veteran of DC United's Youth Academy, Najar was named the 2010 DC United Volkswagen MVP and won the 2010 MLS Rookie of the Year award. Out of the 57 matches he has played in, Najar he's earned 10 goals and seven assists.
The Olympic team's first match will be played on Thursday against Morocco.
