Free Rita's For a Year Giveaways At Kingstowne Shop's Grand Opening

KINGSTOWNE, VA — Rita’s Italian Ice & Frozen Custard is holding a grand opening for its new shop in the Kingstowne area on Thursday.

Starting at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 21, the new shop will reward the first 50 customers in line with free Rita’s Italian Ice for a year at the Kingstowne location.

Rita’s also will be offering customers a $4 small Italian Ice and $5 small Gelati. From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, customers are invited to enjoy photo opportunities with Rita’s mascot, Ice Guy, and Rita’s merchandise giveaways.

To officially commemorate Alexandria’s only Rita’s Italian Ice & Frozen Custard location, franchisees Terrain and Toya Davis will host the shop’s official ribbon-cutting ceremony at 6 p.m.

The Davis’ are in the process of incorporating a food truck into their available offerings and said they look forward to providing the community with sweet treats for many years to come.

Other Rita's Italian Ice locations are at 116 Church St NW in Vienna; 10726 Fairfax Blvd in Fairfax; and 4299 Chantilly Shopping Center, Suite 204 in Chantilly.

The new Rita’s is located at 7592 Telegraph Rd. in Alexandria.

Thursday’s grand opening schedule:

• 5 p.m.: Free Rita’s Italian Ice for a Year to the first 50 guests
• 6 p.m.: Official ribbon-cutting ceremony

Rita’s Italian Ice & Frozen Custard opened its first shop in Bensalem, Pennsylvania, in 1984. Rita’s Italian Ice is made fresh daily on-site and available in a rotating daily selection from over 75 flavors. Its menu also includes creamy frozen custard and signature frozen treats such as gelati and milkshakes.
