Kingstowne Man Charged With Rape, Malicious Wounding: Police

The suspect and a woman met Monday morning in Kingstowne, where the suspect pushed the woman downstairs and then sexually assaulted her.

KINGSTOWNE, VA — A Kingstowne man was charged with rape and malicious wounding in connection with an incident that took place at an apartment early Monday morning, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.

Fairfax County police detectives identified the suspect as Yeudy Saul Chavez Sandoval, 22, and obtained warrants for rape, forcible sodomy, object sexual penetration and malicious wounding, police said.

At about 5 a.m. on Monday, police officers responded to a townhome in the 6000 block of Alexander Avenue in Kingstowne for a report of a woman who had been raped and maliciously assaulted. The suspect left the scene prior to the officers’ arrival. The victim was taken to the hospital with significant injuries, according to police.

Detectives determined the victim met the suspect online. The two agreed to meet in-person. When the victim arrived to the 6000 block of Alexandria Avenue, the suspect lured her into an apartment, police said.

The victim was pushed down the stairs, where she suffered significant injuries. The suspect then sexually assaulted her, police said. The victim was able to escape and call 911.

Police were able to find Chavez Sandoval. He is currently being held in the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center on no bond, police said.
