Lee High Varsity Girls Soccer Gets New Head Coach

Coach John Fuller was promoted from JV coach to varsity coach.

Coach John Fuller is now the varsity girls soccer head coach at after the former coach, Nicky Giunta, left after two seasons to pursue her master's degree. 

"I have watched many of the returning varsity girls play this past season and, with the addition of some other super players, they are really going to be something special,” said Coach Fuller. 

Coach Fuller took the helm with 18 years of experience coaching girls soccer. He previously coached the JV team at Lee High, as well as the JV team at the Connelly School of the Holy Child in Potomac, MD. He also coached U16 travel teams in Virginia and Florida that won two regional titles and earned second place at the Walt Disney tournament in Orlando, FL.

"I am excited about hiring John Fuller, he brings years of soccer experience to Lee High School," said Lori Barb, director of student activities.  "He coached the JV girls this past year and the girls really responded to his coaching style.  He is passionate about continuing to build our program and turning out quality soccer players.  We are excited for the soccer season to get under way!"

The former Marine Sergeant and retired US Army Major with 26 years of military service is the Chief Diversity Educator for the US Department of Veterans Affairs. He previously served as the Director of Diversity at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Coach Fuller earned a bachelor's degree at Indiana University, a master's degree in education from Vermont College, a master's degree in community leadership and another in business ethics from Duquesne University and a Doctor of Education degree from California Coast University.
