Man Shot In Franconia Dies At Prince William County Hospital: Police

A man who was shot in the Franconia area on Tuesday died later at a hospital in Prince William County, the Fairfax County police said.

FRANCONIA, VA — A man who was shot in the Franconia area on Tuesday died later at a hospital in Prince William County, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.

Shortly before 2 p.m. on Tuesday, police officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 5300 block of Harbor Court Drive in Franconia. After a search of the area, no victims or suspects were found at the scene.

Prior to police arriving at the scene, witnesses described hearing a gunshot and seeing someone fleeing the area in a black Dodge Charger, with a gun in his hand.

Around 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, officers were notified by the Prince William County Police Department that a black Dodge Charger had arrived at a local hospital with a victim suffering from a gunshot wound.

Bryant Anthony Gillis, 23, of Woodbridge was pronounced dead the hospital.

Fairfax County police detectives determined a friend who was with Gillis at the time of shooting drove him to the hospital.

Detectives are continuing to investigate the shooting and are asking anyone with information about the incident to call its Major Crimes Bureau at 703-246-7800, option 2.
