McDonald's Bathroom Shooting Near Edison High School Leads To Arrests
Two juveniles are in custody in connection with a shooting Tuesday in a bathroom at a McDonald's restaurant on Franconia Road, police said.

FRANCONIA, VA — Two juveniles are in custody in connection with a shooting on Tuesday in a bathroom at a McDonald’s restaurant on Franconia Road in Fairfax County, according to police.
Around noon on Tuesday, officers went to the McDonald's at 5600 Franconia Road in the Rose Hill neighborhood in response to a report of a gunshot inside the bathroom. No one was injured in the shooting, police said.
Several juveniles were seen leaving the McDonald’s after the sound of the gunshot, and a witness provided police with a description of a car seen leaving the scene. Officers found the car and took the juveniles inside the car into custody, according to police.

Officers determined that some of the juveniles attended nearby Edison High School. One of the juveniles had returned to the school. Officers coordinated with a school resource officer at Edison High School and found the juvenile and took him into custody around 2:10 p.m.
Police officers then worked with Fairfax County Public Schools security to review surveillance footage, which showed the juvenile entering a bathroom at the high school. Officials searched the school bathroom and found a gun concealed above a ceiling tile, police said.

That juvenile was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a firearm on school property. A second juvenile was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, brandishing, and reckless charge of a firearm.
The names of the juveniles were not released by the police.
