Smashburger To Host All-Day Grand Opening Celebration In Kingstowne

KINGSTOWNE, VA — Smashburger is preparing to open a new restaurant in Kingstowne that will serve burgers, along with cocktails and beer at a 12-seat bar.

The grand opening celebration for the new Smashburger will take place on Saturday, Sept. 23, with all-day specials, including $5 Classic Single Smash Burgers and $10 wings and beer. One of the restaurant’s eye-opening menu items will be the Breakfast Smash Burger, topped with an egg, bacon, and aged cheddar on toasted brioche.

Grand opening attendees will get a chance to receive Smashburger swag, cocktails served by Elizabethany, the afternoon host of HOT 99.5, and Washington Commanders ticket giveaways with the HOT 99.5 Street Team from noon to 2 p.m.

The new Smashburger location is at 5920 Kingstowne Center in Alexandria. It will be the first Smashburger to open with a full bar offering a variety of beers on draft and cans along with cocktails such as Blackberry Smash, Smoke & Spice Margarita, Smash Rum Punch and Coconut Mule.

"We are thrilled to bring another Smashburger location to Virginia, this time with an elevating dining experience and full bar," Toni Bianco, senior vice president of global operations for Smashburger, said in a statement. "Now the residents in Alexandria and the surrounding community will have the opportunity to enjoy a great tasting, high quality burger accompanied by a refreshing cocktail or beer, all at an affordable price."

Smashburger has other locations at Reagan National Airport and Dulles International Airport, along with restaurants in Gainesville, Rockville, Maryland, and the Gallery Place neighborhood of Washington, D.C.

Smashburger uses 100-percent fresh Certified Angus Beef for its burgers, which are cooked on a hot-seasoned grill in an open kitchen. Its menu also features grilled and crispy chicken sandwiches, turkey and black bean burgers, and salads, with signature sides like crispy brussels sprouts and SmashFries. For sweet treats, customers can order milkshakes.

The 2,794-square-foot restaurant in Kingstowne will seat 71 guests, including 12 at the bar, and will be open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
