Springfield Buy Buy Baby Store To Celebrate Reopening On Saturday

SPRINGFIELD, VA — Despite closing its doors last summer due to the financial woes of its corporate owner, Springfield's Buy Buy Baby store is set to reopen this Saturday.

In April, Bed Bath & Beyond, which owned Buy Buy Baby and Party City, filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy.

Baby goods retailer Dream on Me bought Buy Buy Baby’s intellectual property in June and announced plans to reopen 11 stores in the Northeast, Avish Dahiya, the company’s chief marketing officer, told CNBC in August. It was unclear at that time whether the Springfield location was among the 11.

On Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Buy Buy Baby store located at 6398 Springfield Plaza in Springfield will be hosting a celebration. Expectant parents and their friends are invited to try out baby gear and products, learn from baby and parenting experts, and create a dream registry. Snacks and beverages will also be served.

Everyone who attends will be eligible to receive gift cards, win prizes, such strollers, car seats, breast pumps, and cribs, and go home with a gift bag.
