Top 5: The Week Ahead in Kingstowne
Nalls Produce, music, performing arts and more events happening this week.

Patch knows you have a million things to do this summer. But just in case you're looking for some interesting activities or events this week in and around Kingstowne, we got you covered.
This week, Patch highlights some of the coolest, most interesting events happening in the area.
Open House. Brown Academy will have an open house event Thursday. Tour the campus and find out more information about the school. RSVP for this event to admission@browneacademy.org.
Farmers Market. Stop by the farmers market in Kingstowne Friday to purchase local produce. The Kingstowne farmers market will be open from 4-7 p.m. every Friday until Oct. 25.
Another Day in Paradise. Stop by Nalls Produce on Beulah Street for this all day event Saturday. Check out some of the shop's flowering plants, tropical fruits, and taste some samples from local vendors. The event will also include sounds by Jimmy Buffett and steel drum music. Alexandria's own Exquisite Tea Co.will be joining us to serve up refreshing, iced samples of their tropical tea blends. Food trucks are also scheduled to serve up some delicious food during the event.
Musicians. The State Fair of Virginia is seeking local music acts to play during the 10-day fair, which begins Sept. 27. There is no charge to perform and performers are not paid. Artists would play at the Meadow Event Park’s Triple Crown Amphitheater. Send information to Micki Long at micki@threeoneoneproductions.com.
Performance Art. Looking to do something artsy this week? Stop by the Capitol Fringe Festival showcasing exploratory and contemporary performances. It’s going on now and runs through July 28. The festival is being held in a variety of venues in Washington, DC ranging from the Goethe Institut on 7th St., NW to Studio Theatre on 14th St., NW.
