Aloha Luau at Liberty University Brings Tropical Fun to Campus
Liberty University kicked off the fall semester with an exciting "Aloha Luau" event at the Reber-Thomas Dining Center on September 5th
Liberty University kicked off the fall semester with an exciting "Aloha Luau" event at the Reber-Thomas Dining Center on September 5th. Designed to keep the summer spirit alive, the dining team transformed the space into a tropical resort from 5-7:30 p.m.
Upon entering, students were greeted with "Aloha!" from supervisors in grass skirts and leis. Students received leis, grass skirts, and flower wristlets to get into the festive mood. Employees also wore leis at their stations to join in on the fun.
The event featured a variety of activities, including a scavenger hunt, rounds of limbo, and a Plinko game where students could win tropical-themed prizes like specialty pineapple cups and tiki glasses.

The menu brought island flavors to campus, offering dishes like Mahi Mahi with Pineapple Rice, Smoked Pig with Mashed Purple Sweet Potato, and Hawaiian Pizza. The dessert spread included White Macadamia Cookies, Piña Colada Cupcakes, and Mango Custard Pie, while Hawaiian Passion Punch and Blue Hawaii Mocktails kept everyone refreshed.
At the end of the evening, employees got to join in the limbo fun, adding a memorable close to the event. The Aloha Luau was a hit, giving students a fun break from their studies while celebrating the summer spirit.
