Camp Rot: Liberty University Dining Hosts Epic End-of-Semester Bash
New Reber-Thomas Dining Center was transformed into a campsite, complete with live music, dancing, crafts, and engaging activities
Liberty University Dining by Sodexo recently hosted its first end-of-year event, Camp Rot, in the new Reber-Thomas Dining Center on April 23 from 5-8 p.m. This innovative event was inspired by Disney’s “Camp Rock”, creating a lively camp experience right on campus.
The Reber-Thomas Dining Center was transformed into a campsite, complete with live music, dancing, crafts, and engaging activities. A highlight was Sodexo’s specially curated camp-inspired menu, which featured adventurous scorpion lollipops and a seasoned bug station, adding a playful twist to the event.
To bring the camp experience to life, Liberty Dining collaborated with the Director of the Camp and Outdoor Adventure Leadership (COAL) program, Keith Oglesby.

Throughout the evening, attendees were treated to a variety of activities and entertainment. COAL students led camp activities like 9 square-in-the-air and Gaga ball. Mini-games and challenges kept the energy high, with students participating in minute-to-win-it games and winning prizes such as Hydro Flasks and Rumpl blankets.
A student-based band provided lively music with covers of popular songs, including a rendition of “We Rock” from “Camp Rock”. The event also featured a flash mob by Liberty University’s hip-hop dance crew, D-Trex.
