“I enjoy showing the community that we want to do our part,” said District Manager Duke Davis. “As one of the largest employers in Lynchburg, it’s important for our employees to see that we are committed to lending a hand by providing lunch for the many workers volunteering their time and effort.”
The lunch was held at the Bank of the James/Hillcats Stadium, a fitting venue for such a community-driven event. Resident Operations Manager Jake Clay, who has been involved in twelve of these events, expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative. “I enjoy bonding with the team and helping others in our community,” he said.

Director of Catering Donna Casalenuovo reflected on her experience helping out with the Day of Caring as a member of the Sodexo senior management team. “Since I grew up here, I always run into a few volunteers that I know personally, which is a huge treat for me. I also really enjoyed getting to work with managers from other units on campus and showing them that the catering department takes pride in and has fun with what we do.”
