MILWAUKEE, WI — Wisconsinites are getting ready to celebrate July 4 after two years of event cancelations and modifications.
Residents in cities and counties across the country are looking forward to many of the traditional Independence Day activities that mark the summer holiday.
July 4 is just a few days away, so there’s still time to find out what Fourth of July fireworks and festivities are going on near you in 2022.

Milwaukee Lakefront Fireworks 2022 @ Veteran's Park

Lakefront Fireworks is a 45-minute fireworks display planned at Veteran's Park around 9:30 p.m. on July 3, according to the event website. American Family Insurance, the Kelben Foundation, Inc. and Town Bank will co-present the show.
Fireworks Across The City Of Milwaukee
A total of 12 Milwaukee parks will hold different celebrations, ranging from parades, free snacks and fireworks. July 4 festivities will be held in the following parks.
Kids under 14 and seniors over 60 get a 50 percent discount on tickets to watch the Milwaukee Brewers face off with the Chicago Cubs at American Family Field on July 4 at 3:10 p.m., according to the MLB schedule. You can buy tickets here.
$4 On The Fourth @ Milwaukee County Zoo
The Milwaukee County Zoo will charge all visitors $4 to visit on July 4. Parking fee and concession fees still apply.
Celebrations in communities near Milwaukee:
- Near Wisconsin Ave. and Maple Ave. in downtown Waukesha
- 11 a.m.
- Lowell Park, 2201 Michigan Ave.
- 9:30 p.m.
- Kiwanis Village Park, 325 Capitol Drive
- 3 p.m.
- Main Street to Sussex Village Park
- 9:30 a.m.
- Sussex Village Park, W244 N6125 Weaver Drive
- 9:20 p.m.
The city parade starts at near Gebhardt Road and Oak Grove Road around 9:30 a.m. and moves west to Norhardt Road and Civic Drive, the City of Brookfield said in a statement. The annual parade usually ends between 11:30 a.m. and 12 p.m. Family Fest kicks off at Mitchell Park at 6 p.m. and ends at 9 p.m., the city said. The event offers food and entertainment before the fireworks show. Fireworks light off at Mitchell Park around 9:17 p.m., the city said in a statement.
Wauwatosa July 4 Parade + Fireworks In Hart Park
The City of Wauwatosa will host a July 4 parade on W. North Avenue at 9 a.m. The parade will proceed west on W. North Avenue between S. 80th Street and S. 104th Street. Fireworks will be launched from near S. 63rd Street and W. River Parkway at 9:15 p.m. The city invited residents to watch from Hart Park.
A pre-parade is set to feature the classic "noisy" police cars, fire engines, military trucks, tractors and more, leading into a full parade. The 2.6-mile parade route stretches down Main Street. Starting at Goold Street near Main Street, the parade will move south around the turn up 14th Street. The pre-parade starts at 8:30 a.m. with main parade at 9 a.m. on July 4. There will also be a fireworks show at North Beach at dusk, or 8:45 p.m.
