Check Your Restaurant Bill

Are you being scammed?

Went to a local restaurant. The bill was $56.84. The bill-suggested-tips were 22% = $16.44 or 20% = $14.95 or 18% = $13.45.

Your calculator will tell you 22% of $56.84 = $12.50 (not $16.44). A 20% tip = $11.37. (not $14.95). And an 18% tip is $10.23 (not $13.45).

What did the restaurant say when hearing this: "We know. We told the vendor who handles the billing this 5 months ago. "

You have to ask yourself: How many restaurants does this vendor serve. Can this error – after 5 months – possibly be innocent?

When restaurant bills today are twice those of yester year, all tips automatically double. Yes, we want help staff to be compensated fairly. But we also want restaurants to remain in business. No business. No wait staff. No tips.
