Train From San Diego To Orange County Returns After Lengthy Shutdown
Passenger service will resume on a key stretch of Southern California rails, now that the erosion has been fixed, officials announced.

SAN DIEGO, CA — Train service from San Diego to Orange County will resume next week after officials announced that tracks in South San Clemente that were threatened by erosion have been fixed.
"This emergency work has posed an unprecedented challenge, especially with the heavy rainfall this season, and we're very pleased to announce that passenger service can safely resume on this key stretch of Southern California rail," said Gene Hernandez, the chairman of the Orange County Transportation Authority.
Metrolink service is expected to resume next Monday, once again connecting Orange County and the Inland Empire.
