Body of Missing Sonoma County Diver Pulled From Water

The Sonoma County sheriff's search-and-rescue team recovered the body of a deceased abalone diver Thursday who went missing in Salt Point State Park on Monday afternoon, deputies said.

The deceased diver, identified as Craig Emery Willes, 56, of Timber Cove, disappeared in Fisk Mill Cove on Monday. The diver's wife reported Willes missing at about 4 p.m., according to sheriff's deputies.

His body was recovered at about 11:10 a.m. on Thursday approximately 20 feet beneath the surface of the water where he was last seen diving, deputies said. 

Willes' next of kin have been notified and an autopsy is pending, according to deputies.
