  1. As a tie-in to National Pollution Prevention Week, several "Creek Week" community cleanup events are happening along the Russian River Watershed from Sep. 17 to 24. Here in Healdsburg, there will be a dedicated Russian River Watershed Cleanup Day on Saturday, Sep. 17 at Memorial Beach, as well as a Foss Creek Cleanup day on Saturday, Sep. 24. 2. As Healdsburg Greyhounds fans excitedly got into the spirit of their season opener on Friday, the scene at nearby Windsor High School was quite a different story. A group of about 20 teenagers reportedly got into a series of physical altercations during the Windsor home game, to the point where some parents had to get involved and contact law enforcement. Officials said at least two people were injured and two were arrested in connection with the fights, and it is believed that the incidents may have been gang-related. The Windsor Police Department is actively investigating the fights. (Healdsburg Patch)
  3. As a reminder, most government offices and public libraries throughout Sonoma County will be closed this upcoming Monday, Sep. 5, in observance of Labor Day. Please plan accordingly if you will need to visit a local government office next week. Normal business hours will resume on Tuesday, Sep. 6. (County of Sonoma)
