Hot Oil Spilled on Highway 128, Partially Blocking Roadway

Tack oil, which is used to bond new pavement to an existing roadway, has spilled on Highway 128.

Fifty to 100 gallons of a type of hot oil used to repave roadways has spilled on Highway 128 near Healdsburg, the CHP says.

The spill happened around 11:40 a.m. when a trailer being pulled by a pickup overturned on Highway 128 near Chalk Hill Road.

The CHP's website reports that hot tack oil is "all over [the] roadway in both lanes."

The driver attempted to move the trailer after the spill, but it's still partially blocking the route, the CHP says.
