Hwy. 101 Lane Changes This Weekend and Beyond

Widening both directions of 101 from Santa Rosa Ave in the north to Corona Rd. part of extensive CalTrans project

If you live in Healdsburg and use the freeway, you may want to know about some lane changes on Highway 101 scheduled for the next few days.

By early Saturday morning, work began on adding a third lane in each direction from Rohnert Park Expressway to Santa Rosa Avenue, according to the California Department of Transportation.

First step in that effort will be lane changes in the northbound direction to allow for work on the third lane. Since this is a "changed condition," CalTrans emphasizes that drivers should use caution in the area.

After the lane change, the work to add the extra lane will usually take place between 10 p.m. and 6 p.m., Monday through Friday for a several weeks.

South from the Expressway, work will also take place next week on 101 between RPX and Corona Road in Petaluma, again for widening the freeway. The construction is scheduled between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m., to minimize traffic congestion. Lane changes will affect both northbound and southbound traffic, so drivers are advised to use extra caution.
