Man Accused Of Killing Brother In Healdsburg Pleads Not Guilty

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — A young Santa Rosa man pleaded not guilty Wednesday to stabbing his older brother to death in Healdsburg in March. Moses Torres, 18, faces a preliminary hearing May 20 in Sonoma County Superior Court in Santa Rosa.

Healdsburg police responded to a report of a stabbing around 7:10 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27 and found 25-year-old Ivan Torres wounded in the torso at a home at 1687 Canyon Run in Healdsburg.

Torres died en route to a hospital.

Police arrested Moses Torres in the Larkfield-Wikiup area of Sonoma County north of Santa Rosa.

Healdsburg police said they also recovered the weapon used in the killing.

Jail records show Moses was booked into Sonoma County jail at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 28 and remains in custody without bail.
