Do you have a guess of how much Rep. Jared Huffman had to raise to win his seat in the House of Representatives?

But how much did his House seat cost him?
When we asked this question on Facebook, one reader responded idealistically:

Though you can't buy a vote, a campaign does cost money. In terms of dollars and cents, Huffman raised $1,449,962 during the 2012 election cycle, according to MapLight, a non-profit that tracks money in politics.

That figure is pretty typical: the average House member raised $1,689,580, or $2,315 a day, according to MapLight.
