Murder Suspect Arrested After 4 Shot At GA Bar
One of the suspects died in the shooting that injured three other people at an Austell bar, Douglas County authorities say.
AUSTELL, GA — A man is facing murder charges after a weekend shooting that killed one of the suspects and injured three other people at an Austell bar, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office said Monday.
Deputies responded around 2:45 a.m. Saturday to Marlene's Bar, where they say four people had been shot at the Emery Circle business.
The shooting followed "multiple disturbances" involving two people earlier in the night, authorities said.

The four people who were shot were taken to a hospital, but authorities said suspect Jack Dewayne Shanks Jr. died of his injuries.
Chauncey Dashon Martin, identified as the second suspect, was arrested on charges of felony murder, four counts of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of certain crimes, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and tampering with evidence, authorities said.

He was being held without bond Tuesday, Douglas County Jail records showed.
