Cobb Food Scores: San Luis Restaurant, Unwine'd & Tap, The Bowl

COBB COUNTY, GA — Looking for a place to chow down this weekend? Take a look at the latest scores for Cobb restaurants and food-service operations inspected by the state health department in the last week.

Of the 43 Cobb County eateries inspected since March 4 — the last time Patch posted a restaurant roundup for the area — a total of 35 restaurants received grades of A, seven received grades of B and one received a C: San Luis Restaurant in Marietta. None received a grade of U for "unacceptable."

The restaurant was cited for an employee not washing their hands between washing, rinsing and sanitizing dishes; improperly heating up peppers stuffed with cheese; improperly thawing raw pork and raw fish; using grocery bags or trash bags to store raw meat; and improperly storing wiping clothes.

Each item on an inspection form has a point value ranging from 1 to 9 points, with violations deducting points from the best possible score of 100. Higher points are taken for items with higher risk to cause illness, while repeat violations take even more points.

Letter grades assigned are A for totals of 100 to 90 points, B for 89 to 80, C for 79 to 70 and U for less than 70.
