Fire Destroys Chastain Park Conservancy Barn

The Jan. 4 fire destroyed the barn, which was undergoing renovations so it could be dedicated as the Ray Mock Memorial Green.

ATLANTA, GA — The weekend was a devastating few days for the Chastain Park Conservancy, as its barn was destroyed Friday evening in a fire in the Buckhead community.

The fire was reported around 5:30 p.m. Jan. 4 and destroyed the barn, which was undergoing renovations so it could be dedicated as the Ray Mock Memorial Green, the organization said on its Facebook page.

Atlanta Fire Rescue Department spokesperson Sgt. Cortez Stafford said crews arrived at the metal building to find the structure fully involved and partially collapsed. Stafford said there were no injuries to employees, animals or firefighters.
