Here are the top stories today in Sandy Springs:

1. Many Sandy Springs residents have called on the city to bring more housing and greenspace to be built around City Springs. The city has retained marketing consultants, and Pond & Co. to assist with ongoing updates to the City Springs Master Plan. Community members have called for housing that would meet different peoples' needs, and in general more greenspace in the area. (Reporter Newspapers)
2. Hammocks Trading Company is shutting its doors after 10 years of business. The seafood restaurant on Roswell Road will be closed after July 31. Owners Jason Sheetz and Chef William Sigley own a handful of other restaurants, and likely plan to open more in the area. (Reporter Newspapers)
