- Sandy Springs and other nearby cities rejected Fulton County's request to receive 35 percent of the Local Option Sales Tax (LOST). This increase would have a large impact on Sandy Springs as around one fourth of the city's General Fund comes from LOST distribution. The city earned $25.3 million in 2020 from LOST revenue. (Reporter Newspapers)
- The City of Sandy Springs has decided to reschedule its Stars and Stripes fireworks display for Friday, July 29 at City Green. The event will run along with the City Green Live season finale, and the lawn will open at around 4 p.m. The Smithereens will perform a live set with guest vocalist Marshall Crenshaw, and the fireworks will begin immediately after.
