- A woman who recently spent three days at the Fulton County Jail has revealed shocking conditions, including overcrowding, co-ed confinement, and denial of food and water. Fulton County Commission Chair, Robb Pitts, recently declared an emergency due to overcrowding and urged the Atlanta City Council to increase the jail's capacity and eliminate transfer criteria to alleviate the crisis. These poor conditions have led to 10 inmate deaths this year, with county leaders also exploring relocating inmates to Mississippi and South Georgia facilities if the capacity issue isn't addressed locally. (Fox 5 Atlanta)
- Fulton County Public Works and the Fulton County Board of Health are hosting a virtual Septic System Education workshop today, Sep. 19 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. The workshop is designed for property owners with septic systems and will address maintenance-related questions. The event is created in partnership with local municipalities. Registration is required. (Fulton County Government via Facebook)
- Zerrick Wilson, accused of fatally shooting Victor Garcia outside a Sandy Springs nightclub, has been arrested. The incident occurred after a confrontation, where Garcia punched Wilson in the face.
