- Since July, over five inmates have died at Fulton County Jail, prompting concerns about inmate safety. To address this issue, the implementation of a wristband system to monitor inmates' vital signs and alert guards in case of emergencies was proposed. However, despite an approved plan with nearly $2 million in emergency funding, the system, called Talitrix, was supposed to be operational within 10 weeks from its contract establishment in April but faced delays due to staffing shortages and infrastructure issues. Talitrix's CEO confirmed that they are now ready to begin monitoring 50-75 inmates, acknowledging the urgency of the situation. (11 Alive)
