- Details have been announced for the inaugural Sandy Springs Wine Festival, which will take place on Sunday, Oct. 1. The event will be held outside on the Entertainment Lawn of Heritage Green, and will feature light fare by local restaurants, live music, and over 100 wines provided by Georgia-based distributors and distinguished wineries. VIP and General Admission tickets are available online, and sponsorship opportunities are also available. (Sandy Springs Perimeter Weekly)
- According to the latest Census data, Sandy Springs ranks 12th among the 50 richest cities in the state. Coming in at No. 12, Sandy Springs is home to 49,941 households, and the median household income is $86,932. Compared to the average household income of $145,216 for the state, Sandy Springs' data are quite high. (Forbes)
- Gas prices across the state fell slightly over the past week, dropping four cents to a new average price of $3.57 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline. The price of a gallon of regular unleaded in Cobb County is $3.64 — roughly seven cents more than the statewide average. AAA has stated the latest drop in prices is due to declining crude oil prices, but that pump prices could ebb and flow throughout September. (Cobb County Courier)
