Mom Arrested In Daughter's Death In Sandy Springs
When officers arrived, police said they found a mother and her 11-year-old deceased daughter in a Sandy Springs home.
SANDY SPRINGS, GA — A Sandy Springs mother has been arrested in connection with the death of her 11-year-old daughter Saturday in the 300 block of Carpenter Drive Northeast, police said Monday.
Sandy Springs Police said they were dispatched Saturday morning to a condominium after a family member requested a welfare check.
When officers arrived, police said they found Shannon Grimes with her deceased daughter in the home. Police did not say how she died.

Grimes was taken into custody in connection with the child's death, police said. Pending charges were not revealed. Police did not identify a motive.
