- In May, a Sandy Springs woman was evicted from her home and tased by Fulton County Marshals, highlighting metro Atlanta's shortcomings in affordable housing and pandemic rental assistance. Christina McKinney has been suffering from Stage IV cancer, and had fallen behind on her rent payments which shot up from $1,500 to $3,000. McKinney has had her belongings in storage and has had to stay with a friend as she is unable to find an affordable living situation. (CBS 46)
- Aegis Sciences began monkeypox testing in Atlanta on Thursday, July 14. Labs nationwide will be using the CDC's orthopoxvirus test. Aegis is expected to be able to perform up to 10,000 tests each week. (WSB Atlanta)
