Andrew Wordes' home exploded this afternoon

Roswell Fire Chief Ricky Spencer told Roswell Patch the fire was put out just before 2:30 p.m. He also said there were no injuries to emergency personnel, but could not give any further details about how the fire started or if it has yet been confirmed whether Wordes body was the one found inside the home by firefighters.

According to a Tweet by Channel 2’s Mike Petchenik, Wordes had called him just before the explosion to tell him to warn Marshals to leave because "it wasn't going to be pretty."

Police have not yet confirmed whether the explosion was an accident or intentional.

Wordes is known for his long time legal battles with the city over having chickens on his Roswell property. He spent three months in the Roswell Detention Center in 2011 after Roswell Municipal Judge Maurice Hilliard revoked his probation for violating city codes. . The eviction process concluded today when Marshals showed up at the house to force Wordes to leave the property.
