  1. Precision 2000 (P2K), a construction firm in Sandy Springs, celebrated its 25th anniversary with a dinner attended by industry leaders and members of the Hispanic community. Founded by Guiomar Obregon and Carlos Sanchez, P2K has been involved in critical repairs and construction projects at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Obregon has been instrumental in establishing the Georgia Hispanic Contractors Association and promoting opportunities for women in construction through initiatives like Latinas in Construction. P2K also created a fellowship for aspiring engineers at Georgia Tech and became the first Hispanic company to have a dedicated classroom at the university. (Rough Draft Atlanta)
  2. U.S. Representative Rich McCormick, representing Georgia's sixth congressional district (which includes Sandy Springs), has become the first politician from Georgia to endorse Ron DeSantis for his 2024 White House bid. DeSantis is expected to make his campaign announcement on Twitter this week. Georgia's sixth congressional district has been significant in launching the political careers of notable figures such as Newt Gingrich and Tom Price.   3. Arby's, headquartered here in Sandy Springs, has introduced the Americana Roast Beef Sandwich for a limited time. The new sandwich features thinly sliced roast beef, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onions, and special sauce on a toasted sesame bun. It is available at participating Arby's locations starting May 22. Additionally, Arby's is bringing back the seasonal favorite Pecan Chicken Salad Sandwich. (Sportskeeda)
